Character Mod Overlay Problems

My friend is working on a character mod and the only issue remaining is that their chara has long hair, which overlaps oddly with the torso when viewed from behind. Neither of us are sure what to do about the issue because erasing the obscuring part of the torso seems to be a bad move.

Is there a way to change the overlap order of the head and torso, perhaps? This is the only issue they have left so if anyone can help that'd be awesome.

You'd have to copy and change the animations, which is very effortful and rather problematic.

 

I recommend you cheat a little bit and slap some hair texture on the torso. If you do the lining smoothly, it won't even look bad.
