Regarding the upcoming "free" DS Together gift on 3rd June

If I own a giftable copy of Don't Starve and keep it in my Steam inventory before 2nd June (i.e. purchase before 2nd June), will I still get the free DST gift after 3rd June when I send it to my friends?

I believe you have to "own" it in library, not just keep in inventory.

I remember asking something similar back when DST was first announced.

 

As @228, said, in order for you to receive the free copy of DST, you will need to have DS in your Steam library. Not in your inventory. Likewise, if you gift DS to one of your friends, he/she will need to have it in his/her Steam library, not sitting in inventory waiting to be redeemed.
