Wrting and compiling new shaders?

Anyone knows how to write and compile/use new shaders for DS and DST?

While I open the shader files with notepad++ there is lot of NUL symbols.

I can't tell what version of shaders it is or what was used to write them.

Its not a plain text format, its a binary format. I am not sure if there are any tools available to create\extract those. But just looking at the .ksh files its a relatively simple format to reverse engineer.
