Installing mods for the first time and they are crashing

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Just installed a mod for the first time - followed the instructions and when I entered and enabled them in Don't Starve they always crash - no specific error messages, they show as Crashed.

Any ideas?

I am running non-Steam on Windows 7.

Installed the mods Foxy and Up and Away.

Help will be much appreciated... Thanks!

@WebberGuy,

Log.txt (Steam and Standalone)

In order to find your game's log.txt file:

PC: Go to your documents folder at Documents\klei\donotstarve\log.txt

Mac: Go to your documents folder at ~/Documents/Klei/DoNotStarve/log.txt

Linux: Go to your Klei folder at ~/.klei/DoNotStarve/log.txt

Thanks for the directions.

Attached the file - what do the messages mean - I get 2 types of errors:

1. Orphaned unnamed resource. This resource must have used Add( resource ) to insert itself into the manager.

2. Could not unload undefined prefab 0x3364203d (forest)

Those are not critical errors, and anyone has them. Here's the real deal:

scripts/modindex.lua(206,1) Error loading mod: Foxy (Foxy The Pirate Fox)!

api_version for Foxy is in the future, please set to the current version. (api_version is version 6, game is version 5.)

scripts/modindex.lua(206,1) Error loading mod: UpAndAway (Up and Away)!

api_version for UpAndAway is in the future, please set to the current version. (api_version is version 6, game is version 5.)

Update your game
