bigpak
I was wondering how hard it would be to make a larger world preset than huge, so something absolutely massive, would it take a lot of work? Would it completely mess up worldgen? I am really interested in this becoming a thing, does anyone have any idea how hard it would be? Developer bizziboi Posted March 27, 2015 Developer Share Posted March 27, 2015 Substantially larger? Pretty hard as is. Worldgen wouldn't so much be the problem, memory would be. CarlZalph
I could see a system using the cavern teleport behaviour being done for different 'layers' of the world. Since this is the single player version it would only have one slice of the world loaded at any time.So the limit should then be pushed to hard drive space. As for difficulty I'm not sure, I haven't personally ever poked at the world gen code nor the code for the cavern system. If I had to guess then it wouldn't be too difficult, based on how dynamic the codebase is for other things.
