calculuschild
Sorry if this is already explained somewhere. I have looked around for a while and can't find any good information. I've been playing a bit of DST finally and I'm a little confused how the effects of sanity work in multiplayer. I haven't gotten too low of sanity, but I did notice when I was a ghost I could see shadow hands from my friend's insanity and I could help push them back by haunting them. On the other hand, as a ghost I could see the night watcher guys but my friend couldn't. There was also a point where my friend was about half sanity and I was fine, but I could see Mr. Skits going into the obelisks around the pig king and I was confused why I would see that happening when my character is completely sane. Anyway, we never made it far enough to really tell what was going on (we both suck). If one person is insane, does everyone see the shadow creatures? Or just the the insane guy and ghosts? What if the insane person is on the opposite side of the map. Is a sane person on the other side of the map at risk of being killed by shadow creatures? Can I join someone's server and purposely go insane to spawn shadow creatures on everyone else? Pyromailmann
Sanity behaves similar to how it does in DS.The only difference being in Survival mode if there's a ghost player, it makes your sanity go down. Also, hallucinations are shown by the person who has the lowest sanity. So if you see shadow monsters but have loads of sanity, they won't attack you. calculuschild
What about shadow hands? If my friend is going insane but im fine, and we are at separate campfires in the night, do i have to fight off the shadow hands because my friend is insane on thr other side of the map? I don't know how it works. They'll probably spawn around your friend rather than you if you're at different campfires.
