Reason why insanity aura from a ghost player in survival is bulls***

I like the system for cooperative play. It gives the whole group a stake in other players and dying creates a problem for the whole group. On a server with random people the problem is not the sanity drain but willows or ghosts terrorizing the community. 

 

A small group of willows ended up burning a base, and I essentially got killed because some asshat decided to tentacle spawn the portal, so ghosts drained my sanity to stupid degrees.

 

I know the ghosts are part of (co-operative) play, but trouble arises when you have a bunch of strangers on the server who frankly don't give jack about one another.

 

Not everyone has friends who play don't starve, and sometimes people actually want to play by themselves on a server. When you couple in some jerk tentacle spawning the portal, willows destroying everything and killing people because they can chase you all night with their light and so forth, you are essentially screwed.
