Quiet
I'm not the first to come up with the idea of Krampus killing griefers, but it's still a pretty good idea in my opinion. Unfortunately, I haven't really found any suggestions that work very well; so here's one of my own. Objects that are placed remember what players place them. For instance, if I were to build a science machine, it would log my name as the "owner" of that object. If anyone else were to break or light the object on fire, it would add to their own, personal "naughtiness" counter. If they were to break a certain amount of items, then Krampus would appear and start smashing stuff they owned. Of course, you could have the option to remove this, if you wanted a PVP server or something else. Rayalan
This is most likely a mod someone could make, also making it configurable of the amount of naughtiness you get on a certain object, that someone built. It'll be unlikely that Klei would actually add this to DST themselves, though this topic could catch their attention. Ownership sounds nice ...Though "accidental" fires and old bell/gun powder stuff... ah well... having an ownership is a very good idea in my opinion... but just having krampus smash your stuff could be a bit well... sophomoric (sorry)... maybe a bit more of a punishment worthy of a criminal offence? IDK... O__O Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/50812-youve-been-naughty/#findComment-611953 Share on other sites
rezecib
then Krampus would appear and start smashing stuff they owned. I think in most cases of griefing, though, the griefer has very low investment in the server. So they probably wouldn't have anything for Krampus to smash. So I think Krampus would need to target them directly. bigpak
Even then, griefers wouldn't care about dying as they aren't there to play the game, they are only there to harass and ruin other players experiences. rezecib
@bigpak, Yeah, so Krampus should steal them. Like, pick them up, put them in his bag, and deposit them in the Ruins. That sounds complicated to code actually, unless it is literally just teleporting them into the ruins, that would be a little easier, if its actually making the player into an item in his bag, that would be hilarious.
