Ionel Posted December 21, 2014 Share Posted December 21, 2014 I've decided to start a game with password, play it till the moment i find a base spot, with few materials, and leave it that way, so i have a good place to join with my friends.But, it seems that games with password can still be accessed by different users. During my 30-40min of gameplay on that server, arround 4-5 players have joined me. I asked all of them the same question: " Wasn't the game passworded?". The usual reaction was to quit, from most of them. Some of them even replied...I will post a screen-shot here, just for info. Anyways, the only way to figure out what happened is to let it happen again, and hope for more chatty unwelcomed players that can explain how they got in. Otherwise, from my experience passworded servers are strictly unaccessible unless I knew the password. Sorry for not being much help. Good luck! And i don't think the password i used was so easy to guess, by just typing random letters... With hack programs, ofc, not a big deal. Anyway, will post here replies if i found new info about it. So if my password was something like aH28rYcvMn0913j then none would be able to get in. I'd suggest to use kind of random letters, capitalised and non-capitalised and include numbers in the password so that the chances someone might guess your password would be the same as trying to guess a DST key. It might be a bug that might have occured thought, may be. Also, what did the people who join say to you if they said anything?EDIT: I didn't see the image previously because forum bugged for me. Now that I see it, it looks like people are hacking into password protected servers! Klei needs to know about this to make it more secure!Meanwhile what you can do as the host is to ban them from the server!
