Frontier pack is only for those who didn't get the beta keys?

I tried to buy it on the Steam Store, but it won't let me saying I already own it.

I'm now guessing this is not a bug, but I was the lucky one to get it for free and the ones that did not have the chance to get it have to buy the keys?

But as I said, I think you should contact Steam support. They've done this for other games as well if you own a game and try to buy it again. (I think its silly really. But that's steam for you.)

 

Anyways, you should be able to buy it as a gift if you own it. (But steam screwed that up.)

Eh, I understand why they would prevent people to gift it.

If they could gift it, then there would be no sense of releasing it at $20 for those who don't own the game.

 

I was just confused because I thought I had to buy the frontier pack whenever it was released even if I had the beta keys.

Glad you got your answers! And that's a great point for this. They shouldn't get cheated, and it makes sense because if you own the beta you really own the release as well, they mentioned. They are really giving you a lot for the money (in my opinion). Also, there are sales that are just insanely good when buying these games.

 

I just never miss a chance to complain about steam though ^_^ They wouldn't let me buy a second copy of dishonored. >_> *pokes steam with pitchfork*

 

In the link I posted it got updated with their twitter message, you already own it, so no need to buy it again.

 

But yes, to clarify here (For anyone else needing information) you don't need to buy anything if you own the Don't Starve already. They are actually still giving out free keys to DST beta as well, for anyone not wanting to buy the frontier pack.
