[Gameplay] - Peeking doors works from 1 tile away

Yep. That's what I do all the time and think is intended :-)

Perhaps not exactly intended, but just a consequence of the fact that you can peek through them when you're next to the door. The game can't (or at least doesn't) know that you're on the opposite side of the door, just that you're in an adjacent square. If they ruled that out, then you wouldn't be able to peek when you were up against the adjoining wall.
