After the brightness stopped flashing, the day had the same brightness as the dusk cycle. But when the next day started. Everything was back to normal. I haven't had this problem since. Edit: actually that wouldn't have resulted in dusk brightness. But that does sound familiar.... I figured it was my graphics or something since it also happens singleplayer in RoG.
