[Suggestion] Weapons Durability.

Recommended Posts

Since in Don't Starve Together weapons damage was taken down I think it would be a good idea to buff their durability in some way so that you aren't grinding through weapons. When my friend and I were playing DST it just felt like we were making weapons left and right because it took so long to kill enemies, the durability would go very fast.

As I understand it, the damage was reduced because you could stunlock enemies. So why not just shorten the on-hit animation for the enemies that suffer from this (or maybe it could be set so the attack animation overrides it, like with spider warriors)? (primarily beefalo and koalefants)

I get the balance reasons for reducing damage, but I end up fighting things on my own most of the time anyway, so it just makes every character feel so much weaker...

Yeah, this explains why I kept needing more tentacle spikes. Eventually I resorted to a ham bat, which I like more anyway.

As far as the damage reduction, I am oddly fine with it on everything that isn't birds or rabbits. Shadow Creatures are a mess, but for more than one reason. Beefalo, Kolaphants, Pigs, etc. all have moments I can tear their health apart. Most of the time, I do not notice the difference damage.

However, I used to be a tentacle fighting master. Those tentacles are practically impossible to kill without taking damage now. They can not handle pigs and spiders though.

Tentacles now are indeed tougher. They are still killable without taking damage, but only when you're the host. If you're the client, heaven help you!   :wilson_enraged:

As the host I was unable to do it very easy. However, that was before the last combat update. Pigs + spiders work better anyway though.

I know something about it. One of my friends wanted tentacle spots for nice feather hat. He died 3 times until he managed to get it.

Your friend sure is persistent!  :loyal:

He got what he wanted. Now he's very handsome to birds. Shame he wants to eat them rather than keep as girlfriends pets.

Back to topic: Moar durability or remove damage nerf. If you don't think it's good idea and we are wrong about it then let us test it and we will see if it's cool or not Klei. :)
