PS4 Webber and Spiders

Is there anyway to make Webber's allied spiders attack mobs of your choice on the console version of Don't Starve?

I know on PC you can right click to make them attack, but what about on consoles?

I play on ps4, get close utill u see it say square to attack. Before u hit them run away

The PS4 targeting is pretty much an invisible mouse aiming for you, so when you select an enemy just simply attack and cancel it.

I really wish the whole targeting with a gamepad had longer range. It's a nightmare to use range weapons on enemies without accidentally shooting the wrong thing after getting so close. Either way, I prefer using the gamepad on PC over using the keyboard, but it's still annoying.
