misterinkwell
So, I've looked, but there doesn't seem to be any official ruling on the use of profanity in custom dialogue. Currently with the character in question swears are starred out with asterisks to be on the safe side, but it looks strange in Don't Starve's font. Is there any rule either way, or is it up to creators' discretion? misterinkwell
That still doesn't say anything explicitly one way or the other, though. But thanks! I'll just see if I can change the dialogue to work around it while still keeping the right tone. Also if you’re writing fan-fiction, keep it PG-13, there are younger folk in the audience."To be fair why would you want to use any form of profanity? Surely the best thing to do is keep things clean and respectful. misterinkwell
It's kind of a core part of the character I'm modding, being foulmouthed, but I totally understand. I think I'm just going to go with minced oaths. I think I'm just going to go with minced oaths. You know you can just warn the people your mod is using profane content and say that it isn't for younger audiences. This is the kind of thing that can circumvent the rules because they are not specific about how to be polite and curtious to other people; though this is a curtesy to say IMHO.
