My Multiplayer Questions

1:

will these be actual servers that you need nothing extra to play? (like in portal 2) or will you need to build the server up using himachi (like terraria) or will you have to do port forwording in your router (no games that do this come to mind atm)

 

I MORE THAN EVER hope that I DO NOT NEED himachi or need to port forword or anything extra to be able to play multiplayer! I just want to simply hop on and go play with a friend!

 

2:

How will mods react/work?

 

I hope that mods will work because I would love to play as my smiley the stick man character when playing with my friends

 

3:

what if one person goes to the caves/adventure mode? will the other person stay where they are at?

 

3.5:

what if you actually get to the end of adventure mode and release the guy on the throne?

what's the other person gunna do who is just standing there stairing at their friend stuck in an evil chair?

 

4:

will PvP be an actual thing? will Klei program friendly fire into the game or opt out of it since the title is "together" and the fact that you could accidentally attack your teammate when you are both fending off a spider queen's army?

 

5:

how will the dont starve world be buffed? will there just be a boatload more NPCs or will the current NPCs just be buffed all to hell?

 

6:

will you be able to save your world?

 

I'd like to be able to leave my world with my friend and come back when we are both pumped up for more multiplayer-ness

 

7:

When one person dies are they out for good or will they have a chance to revive if their friend can survive long enough to find a touch stone or build a meat effigy (or other means of respawning that might or might not be added to the multiplayer update)

 

7.5:

If you do die will you be able to spectate the other person(s) that are on the server?

 

8:

What happens if someone leaves or their internet completely breaks down?

 

hopefully they will be able to come back to where they were last standing with all the same stats they had when they left!

 

8.5:

if someone leaves or disconnects will their spot be reserved or will other people be able to steal their spot on the server?

 

These are all questions that I thought alot of people would end up having that I am pretty sure weren't covered in the announcement... they might have been asked and answered already but I didnt see any threads asking these questions. hopefully a dev will see this and be able to answer my questions!

I am REALLY looking forword to this multiplayer and really dont want to be disappointed by the fact it might require himachi or mods wont work or the servers are crap

(I highly doubt klei will rush this and make it bad though since they are such good game makers )

 

I will add questions if anymore come to mind but that's all the questions I have for now

In any case, my question would be: have you ever played multiplayer in the past? If yes, then your last couple of questions could be answered by referring to past experiences! ,)
