Harken Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014 So I've been playing Don't Starve for about a year and a half now. I took a break for a few months and came back to check out the new DLC. It's awesome and I hope they continue to make additions to the game. After reaching day 600 in Reign of Giants, I decided to compile a list of random suggestions and ideas I've had for consideration in future expansions. Milestone EventsI would like to see something special happen when you reach day 50, day 100, etc, to mark the event. Garbage Bin/Refuse PileI would like some way to dispose of items that can't be burned. It would be cool to have say, a refuse pile, that you could throw unneeded items into. Then have the refuse pile generate some sort of fertilizer. FogI think fog would be a cool addition to the game, to make seeing difficult even in the day time. Then you could craft fog goggles or something similar to help see. Maybe there could also be a plant or animal that would only come out on foggy days. We'll even have these goggles soon (which per the wiki has no function yet). http://dont-starve-game.wikia.com/wiki/Moggles Food Spice/SaltPerhaps add the ability to collect salt to keep meat fresh longer, or herbs you could gather to spice dishes so the keep from spoiling so soon. Mole TrapsTo be honest, I never hunt moles. Not in the early game, nor in the mid and late game. The only time I ever hunt moles is to craft the few items which require them and even then, I rarely use those items. So I'd like to either see moles be more valuable or some hands off way to trap them like with bunnies. Shoes/BootsIn addition to the head and chest piece it'd be cool if you could craft shoes and boots. Spiderweb/Swamp ShoesGoing along with the above idea. It'd be cool if you could craft some shoes or boots to wear that would allow you to walk on spider webs without it slowing you down. You also could make walking through the swamp slow you down even more and then add craftable swamp boots. Stone Storage BoxMy storage boxes have a tendency to burn, way way to frequently even in summer with a flingomatic on full blast. So I'd like to see craftable stone storage boxes that would be much less likely to burn, especially when they're stocked full of burnable items. QuicksandWhat desert biome is complete without quicksand? Force the player to keep moving while walking on quicksand or else it drags them under and kills them. Jungle BiomeSo we have a desert biome finally, and a deciduous biome. The only other major one we're missing is the jungle. Fill it full of snakes, you could have the snakes cause very low damage but poison the player slowly over time until they can craft an antidote. Or, alternatively, have the snakes cause low damage but severe damage to the players sanity? Well that's all I've come up with so far. Hope you guys like some of these ideas! 23rd Posted April 10, 2014 Share Posted April 10, 2014 I love these ideas. Expanding on the fog one, I don't think a specially crafted item would be necessary. Fire-produced light should be very effective at dispelling fog.
