Was just curious as to if there was a way to have a staff/wand somehting of that nature, turn whatever you attacked into a rock.  Rocks are useful and I am working on a new character and I want her to have a special weapon that she can use.  Any help is much appreciated :3

Oh snaps. When I read Transformation I legitimately thought of a character that would turn into a Werewolf in a Full Moon. That would be a really nice idea, although I think the Durability should be limited to a couple of attacks. We shall call it 'Medusa's Wand.' hehe. I love the input.

OK, On-Topic now! It depends on what you want. If you want it to instantly transform all monsters - or a specific type of monster, that'll be easy. If you want it to work like the ice staff where it takes a few hits, slightly less easy. It could be a chance thing, so it may or may not turn them into stone.

It's no trouble. Making the target despawn is easy, but making the stone spawn as their location will be the hardest part.

 

EDIT: Actually, the last part isn't that hard. Nevermind.

After testing for a while, it seemed a little OP, since the staff has a 20% chance to 1-hit a Treeguard or Deerclops. I could make it so the staff deals damage, and then it turns the target into stone instead of killing it.

uhh I was thinking of it not working on "boss" monsters (deerclops, treeguard, krampus, etc... ) cause ya that **** is op lol sorry for not responding sooner but ya if there is a way that could happen that would be awesome.  If it only worked on pigs, hounds, spiders, gobblers, that would be better.

It's fine. I'm also considering having chess monsters (knights, rooks, bishops) turning into  stone with gold nuggets, since they're, y'know, made of metal.

Also making a custom rock type for the staff. It has a frowny face! I was thinking it would drop mainly rocks, very rarely marble. And possibly, a 0.01 or 0.02 chance o give Nightmare Fuel. This is, of course, your mod. I'll put it in, but you can take it out, of course. and I'm looking forward to seeing this character mod.
