Well, I must say I love the concept of the game, actually my wife and I both do and we both grabbed a copy in support of this great idea. My wife is a complete addict of the game, she usually gets to level 40'something before dying then goes right back at it, I stopped at about 35 without dying of course in hopes to wait for more updated content.

Having played games my whole entire life, at least 24 years out of the 31 I have been alive I am a little more picky when it comes to games keeping my attention span. Since I am a huge fan of this game and would love to see it be a huge success here are some ideas I thought I would share that I think might not only attract customers but also retain them.

1. Achievements! Yeah, you know, the Ego-stroker baby! If there is one thing I am it is competitive and nothing is more satisfying than knowing that I am better at something than someone else and I think achievements, both easy, hard and insane to get would be a challenging way to retain players, especially those OCD about needing to having them all.

2. Co-op survival mode, I know implementing this into the game would most likely mean you would need to re code the whole game but nothing is more fun about survival games than doing it with 1 or even many different people. It helps create "community" bonding, at least from my experience.

3. Different levels to the game. In all honest where the game stands at out is extremely easy. Prediction is everything and everything can be predicted in the game as to when to hit an animal then move out of the way (wash and repeat) till they are dead to the mundane and repetitive task of chopping, planting, reaping, cooking eating. After about 30 days you are basically master of all of those things. Maybe less tree's or slower spawn rate would give the game a more survival feel to it? As it stands now my current character looks like he is in a "glorified" Farmville of an area. I have 8x7 rows of trees, 10x10 rows of berry bushes and twig bushes and I located myself in the middle of a beefalo camp next to a bunch of rabbit holes....No real need to venture out anymore.

4. MORE ITEMS!!!!! I like how you guys have this "Alchemist" tying to the game where you need certain items in order to build certain things, totally love that about this game. I honestly just hope when the game goes live there will be a plethora of items to use because even though its still in beta, I would have like to have seen WAYYY more items to be built.

There is more I can write, depending on the feedback I get from this maybe ill add more to it. Please in no way take this as a "I think you game sucks" because I dont. I love the game, the concept and everything you guys are doing. Just wanted to add some constructive feedback in order to see this game become huge.

Spoiler Alert - If you are being chased by the Hell Hounds during the day, run to a bridge and make sure you character is diagonal to the hell hounds near the start of bridge and land, running away from the hell hounds in this manner will cause them to get stuck on that ledge and stop chasing you.

X represents you so when they are chasing you, kite them by running into the right corner first then quickly going around corner to the bridge while staying on the right side of bridge. This will cause them to get stuck and stop chasing!

That's a lot of text... I'll see what I can do to respond. :)

Having played games my whole entire life, at least 24 years out of the 31 I have been alive I am a little more picky when it comes to games keeping my attention span. Well that's where your suggestions come in. The Devs are reading these threads and are always on the look out for new ideas, or a new spin on existing ideas. So keep on posting.

As I recall someone started up a whole website based on collecting achievement suggestions. The idea, as you could well guess, is popular among some forum members. Hmmm. The only issue is what challenges would need to be overcome. The reason why this is an issue is because the Devs do not want to create a game which rewards "grinding", so you wouldn't expect to see an achievement "Cut down 10,000 trees!", because they wouldn't want to run the risk a player might actively strive to complete this task... and in doing so kill all the fun from the game.

Feel free to search for threads on this topic and add your own suggestions for possible achievements. Who knows? Maybe you'll come up with something no one else has considered yet?

2. Co-op survival mode, I know implementing this into the game would most likely mean you would need to re code the whole game but nothing is more fun about survival games than doing it with 1 or even many different people. It helps create "community" bonding, at least from my experience.

Ah... this is also a popular suggestion. However it is ill fated, as the Devs have decided they will be focusing their efforts to build a singleplayer game. It's not that they don't want/like multiplayer, but rather they didn't want to "tack on" a buggy multiplayer option just to get one out the door. There's a possibility this may change one day, but that won't be anytime Soon.

Well the game is still in Beta, but yes, the Devs are working to adjust the game's difficulty. The hounds, for example, were added as a result of players complaining that combat was too predictable (i.e. you were always the instigator) and how safe they were in their base camps. Also, people complained about how easy it was to deal with tallbirds, and now they're crazy and follow you everywhere... hmmm... okay, maybe that one could do with some more work.

Maybe less tree's or slower spawn rate would give the game a more survival feel to it?

Yes, a while back I was in a suggestion thread that discussed the need for trees to have slightly longer periods between cycles and a new "first stage" of growth, namely after you plant a pine cone. The new stage would be seedling and the player couldn't harvest it for logs and it didn't block pathfinding.

Well the Devs are coming up with more content. In fact, in order to progress in the plot at some point you will need to travel through a portal... and never return. So even if you have the best base camp in the world, you'll need to give it up if you want to progress to the "next world". Only what you can carry with you will come along for the ride and then you have to rebuild.

Heh. I'm pretty sure we can all expect more items to appear Sooner or later. :)

On a side note... do you know that the research point system will disappear in January? Yup. There will be a new way to research and craft inventions. If you don't know already, feel free to ask.

Hello and welcome to the forums! I'll put my personal views , and the views of the devs (that i know of) that said things about the game Suggestions. Let's see here...

As mobius said , the developers don't really want achievements because they are too grindy. I too , want achievements so that it adds extra use of killing something or collecting something without the sole reason that you need it to "survive" I don't want grindy ones , just ones that take maybe 1/2 of a game-day to complete - the maximum of 2 days. E.G. grow a long beard - this takes time but it is an easy thing to do , sinse beard hair isn't a must-have necessity unless you want to make a meat effigy in case you are going to die.

2. Co-op survival mode, I know implementing this into the game would most likely mean you would need to re code the whole game but nothing is more fun about survival games than doing it with 1 or even many different people. It helps create "community" bonding, at least from my experience.

Yeah , I too want co-op , sinse co-op is a big thing in most survival games (e.g. Terraria , Minecraft) Though the devs do not want it sinse it would take a long time to do , meaning that they wouldn't have time for regular updates , they also think the game will be too easy with more than one person , sinse they can fight every monster together with not much caution at all , unless its something that does a lot of damage , which is not common , The closest thing to Co-op the devs have in mind is to be able to send messages or something , and maybe even able to make seeds , like in minecraft.

Mobius said that the devs will most likely add some more difficulty to the game , and maybe even a difficulty option , but for now , the game is about survival , and in reality , if you have the resources to survive you don't need to venture out much.

Yeah , items are something that is required in a game like this , I too want to help develop the game by throwing in as many ideas as I possibly can , but alot of my ideas don't fit the developers or the games themes and ideas. But , time will tell!

Also , the game will become harder and harder , and as mobius said :

On a side note... do you know that the research point system will disappear in January

So expect for your camp to become something of the past.
