Where did you get the impression that light was better than dark? They both have equal purpose in this world. And make no mistake, the Dryads are not part of the Light, or ancients. They are neutral. Aggressive, that is true, but neutral nonetheless. As for could one survive on the other... Why, that is a what if question. It is pointless.

"Stop talking to that ancient, and go to bed... I'm tired, and it's annoying when others are talking while I'm trying to sleep."

*Lily is now a purple dog with pointy ears and a little red diamond on her forehead*

(Oxryklne doesn't talk out loud.)

Well, you were battling Darkness when I last saw you.  I assumed you thought Light was the better side.

The beetle pauses.

What did you do, before they sent you into the Nether?  Who were you?

(There's no way espeon is a dog... Right? I think? Espeon has always seemed more cat-like to me, as have all of the evee-lutions.)

Frank pauses for a moment, disregarding Lily.

Make no mistake. I was not sent. I went on my own free will.

However, Frank doesn't seem so sure about this when he says it.

My name is Sha'Gek. And I was quite possibly the most neutral Ancient there was.

Telumi sighed, sitting down next to J. "Carter, I am worried." she stated solemly. She pulled the hood back, revealing her pale eyes and white hair which shined bright and pure in the light from the Grove. "The King is old, and set in his ways. His indifference will be his undoing eventually." she mused gently. "I just wonder if the Grove can withstand it, and if not..."

Telumi turns her gaze to J. "Promise me." she states, "If this grove falls, promise me that you'll take your adventurers with you to stop the Shadow before it kills us all. I'd rather die than watch the Grove fall."

J peers at Telumi.

Quite the request. Do you truly feel that a force that can potentially destroy The Grove can be stopped by a ragtag gang of adventurers?

He hesitates, before speaking again.

I do not make promises. I used to, but now is a different time. I can guarantee nothing. Neither can you, nor the King, nor anybody.

J rises, standing up now.

But I can assure you that I will attempt it.
