Questions on King of Winter Pickable Respawn [SPOILERS]

Recently tried Adventure Mode again (Still looking for you Wes) and got King of Winter as my first world. I thought I lucked out when I started in the Grasslands and found the Pig village with the flowers and berry bush triangle leaves concentration on day one. However, I found that not only did the pig bushes not regrow, NONE of the resources in the entire area grew (as in the whole map up to the rock gate, and I checked about 13 days later to be sure.) By the time I realized this, I didn't stick around much longer so I didn't check if "one side of the map respawns while the other does not" or anything. 

 

 

Is this a variant of KoW AM? I know it's been reported that:

 

 

• On worlds where pickables regrow, they stop entirely sometime after day 20.

 

but this was confirmed on day 12 and 14 and no grass berry bushes twigs or pig village berry bushes regrew at all since their harvest on day one.

 

I thought due to you being in a perma-winter the pickable AM respawn rate was 7 days on average, but did that change now as well, or is it the above as a variant (like not having a resources initially available or very limited?)

I'm not exactly sure what the source of your confusion is. Where did that quote come from?

Anyway, as far as I know, nothing regrows in winter. There used to be a bug where things did regrow, but it was fixed a while ago. So, since it's permanently winter in The King of Winter, resources (grass, twigs, berries, etc.) never regrow. You're better off taking a shovel to them and burning them for fuel.

I don't remember which update it was in, so that means I'd have to go back and look through all previous update threads to look for it.

I don't have time to do that right now.

I think it was in a hotfix, actually. I don't recall which, either, though. It was before Strange New Powers, though; I'm sure of that. I don't think it was a lot longer, so it may have been the update right before?

 

But yes. They fixed it so pickables no longer regrow in winter.

 

If you set Grass and Saplings to less and pick Long Winter, then managing them actually becomes kinda relevant until the second summer kicks in!
