Atardamar
I don't know if there's a topic like this since I have not visited the forums for a long time nor played the game. After 3 months of break I returned to Don't Starve to see what's new and I've seen that caves are fully done. Since caves are done, scattering the "things" that creates teleportato to all layers should give caves a bigger and important reason and force players to explore and experience features of caves and ruins. "Surviving" is the key point of this game and I think to escape, you must survive in caves too.
Grumpy
That only works if you assume the players strive to gather the things and leave the world. Personally I've only used the teleportato once. I consider my games over when I've revealed the entire map and established the ability to survive with ease. Essentially my games end with a realization of boredom and it's very unsatisfying. Why don't I use the teleportato? I figure if the game is most interesting in the early stages when there's actually some difficulty managing hunger and sanity then entering a world with an inventory full of advanced items only takes away that difficulty. I'd rather just start a new game altogether.
Atardamar
Thanks for the reply. I think same as you, after using teleportato once I felt like "Ok I've escaped, now let's just go explore and do random shits, maybe I'll go to caves now.". What I tried to say was, before going to that phase players must experience everything in Don't Starve universe.
