I subscribed a mod and I don't know what to do next its not downloading please help

Let me just see if I got the order of events clear here. First you've subscribed to a mod on the Steam Workshop. Then you've launched Don't Starve, and once that iconic music starts playing with that choppy red background (god I love that background) and hit the "Mods" tab you're clicking the mod you want to enable, hitting okay, and play your game without having gone back to the Steam workshop and unsubscribing at any point during this process, right?

THEN you click the mod you want to enable, hit okay, and play your game without having gone back to the Steam workshop and unsubscribing at any point during this process, right?

Exiting the mod menu without enabling the mods or getting confused and going to the wrong menu entirely is the kind of boneheaded thing I always end up doing, so I'm just trying to be sure it's not that.

Simply saying, it doesn't work is not useful for troubleshooting. Please answer future posts with as much details and full words as possible. We are not a computer or smartphone app, so we'd appreciate full words like yes or no also.

Have you tried removing/unsubscribing and subscribing/re-installing it from the Steam Workshop page?

 

If that doesn't work, try leaving a note on the Workshop page about the problem. If that also doesn't help, you might want to contact Valve Support as well.
