Shadowfall

(AND NOW PINA- I mean, MY AMAZING REENTRANCE!!!)

*Suddenly, four glowing shurikens dig into the back of the creature, and explode*

(Yay for tiny, hardly hurting explosions!!)

[Battal]

The shade's back explodes, but reassembles again.  It turns around, eyes still displaying no emotion.

[Ellebelly24]

*Starling smirks, throwing a shuriken to the creatures left. It explodes on the ground, causing a loud sound*

(Star, are you even smart? *cricket cricket*)

[Blewcheese]

(I wonder how Pops v.s. Star would end. Hmm... Creepy old man v.s. Mysterious star lord...)

The blood shoots towards the shade, solidifying between its joints.

[Battal]

The demon struggles against the blood.  It seems to be overwhelmed when it unleashes a piercing shriek, so loud that the blood shatters and the group is deafened.  Tendrils of darkness burst from its chest, breaking the floor and sending columns, braziers, and tiling into the river far below.  It sweeps through the air to the end of the throne room and vanishes.

[Blewcheese]

Pops nods.

"It is."

He claps twice, and Joseph instinctively stands up.

"I guess we're going towards the end of the throne room, then."

[Will]

"Do you know what that thing is?"

[Battal]

"THAT WAS ONE OF THE FORGOTTEN." The Warden's voice suddenly booms.  "THE CORRUPTED SOUL OF A WARRIOR."

[Blewcheese]

Pops snorts.

"What are you implying, Warden?"

[Battal]

The warden pauses, thinking.  The group has a feeling that he is not exactly Einstein. 

"I WAS IMPLYING THAT...UHH...DEATH AWAITS YOU!"

[Percival]

(I need someone to burn the feet of the doll.)

 

The broken gem pulsates, and a black bile is leaking from the cracks.

[Blewcheese]

(Burning is Battal's department.)

Pops holds back a laugh and begins walking towards the end of the room.

[Battal]

(Well, my character is...discouraged.  So don't expect much help from there.)

The gaping hole left by the Forgotten blocks the group's way forward.  There is, however, what looks like a bit of wooden scaffolding in the chasm below.

[Blewcheese]

Pops snorts.

"This just keeps getting better and better. Let's go."

[Battal]

The drop to the scaffolding below looks survivable, but it still is dangerous.  The wooden posts could break upon impact, or they could miss and suffer a painful demise in the river below.  However, it appears to be their only option.

[Battal]

Kyle misses and dies horribly.

 

Kyle crashes onto the platform, sending a jolt through his leg.  The scaffolding creaks, but doesn't collapse.

[Blewcheese]

Pops shouts down.

"Is it safe? Do you see an exit?"

[Battal]

The scaffolding forms a sort of bridge into the darkness.  The entire structure, however, is wobbling from Kyle's jump.

[Blewcheese]

Pops shouts down.
"Kyle, you finish up. We don't want two people on there at the same time."

[Battal]

However, as Kyle gets closer, he sees that instead of one bridge of scaffold, it is instead a bunch of small wooden towers.  The gaps inbetween are quite wide.

[Battal]

(It's not just one big thing of scaffolding, it's a bunch of little things.)

[Blewcheese]

Pops shouts back.

"I'm sending Joseph down first!"

Joseph looks at Pops.

"But what about you?"

"I'll go last. Hurry up."

Joseph then proceeds to go down the hole.

[Battal]

Joseph crashes down onto the scaffolding.  It leans and groans, but doesn't topple.  Out of anyone's view, a couple screws begin to wrench themselves out of the wood.

[Blewcheese]

(Someone's going to die. I can smell it. It's like Russian roulette. Kinda.)

Joseph sighs with relief and begins crawling after Kyle.

[Battal]

The scaffolding creaks ominously.  A screw completely pops out of the wood, clattering into the river below.
