Shadowfall

(Weapons are for wimps, when you have time slowing/telekinesis/lighting/blood powers. Unless you're in this situation. Then you're screwed.)

Pops shakes his head.

"There's too many! Just go!"

[Battal]

The spiders surge forwards, and the Queen suddenly remembers she can do more than crawl around and hiss.  She fires bolts of shadow at the group, the deadly rays leaving scars in the earth.

[Will]

"F***! We have to run!"

Violet grabs Pops and Snowfall and runs into the forest.

[Percival]

"What about me?!"

 

Fabrico runs as fast as he can to catch up with them, still whacking spiders with his cane.

 

(I think you may have just opened a character opening, Will.)

Pops runs as fast as his old man legs can carry him, which isn't so fast. He barely keep up with the others, but he is visibly struggling.

[Battal]

(I revamped the title page.)

 

(Again.)

 

The group runs until they reach the river again.  The Queen corners them, and her brood prepare to rip the group apart.

[Blewcheese]

(Please explain why we are all dead. Also, I thought we were running toward the orange blob?)

[Battal]

(You are all dead because, well, you're all dead.)

 

The orange blob is only a few meters away.  If the group can reach it before the spiders do...

[Percival]

(It makes sense why we're dead. Also, should I introduce my new character right now?)

 

Fabrico swings his cane at the water, and the water begins to swirl, rising in the air in a perfect sphere.

[Blewcheese]

(Right. Soul trap. Had a brain fart. Sorry.)

Pops flinches away from the water.

"Careful with that stuff!"

Joseph and Pops continue running.

[Percival]

Fabrico twirls his cane, and the sphere breaks apart. The droplets then begin rushing themselves toward the spiders, and Fabrico begins to turn and run.

[Battal]

Immediately after going out of Frabrico's control, the droplets rush back into the river.  The spiders close in.

[Percival]

(Damnit.)

[Blewcheese]

(What did you expect? This is a powers-free zone.)

Joseph picks up a nearby rock and chucks it at the queen, still making his way towards the orange blob.

I saw it a month ago last.

(This thread cannot die, because I have placed a sense of finality in the form of killing Shadowfall.  As everyone wants to see that ending, and knows that it will come, they want to get there.)

 

The Queen raises her talons, preparing to turn the group into ghostly shish-kebab.  They have about five seconds.

[Will]

Violet dives forward, and bumps into the orange blob.

[Percival]

Fabrico trips and is violently ripped apart, his limbs being eaten by the smaller spiders.

 

Fabrico follows Violet and jumps with her, landing in the blob.

Joseph shoves Pops forward with the others, and then leaps.

[Battal]

After a few moments of disgusting darkness, the group reemerges from another orange creature.  On the other side of the chasm.  The Queen and her brood are left wondering where they went.

[Blewcheese]

(The other creature should have been blue.)

Pops pants.

"We shouldn't waste time. That thing could find us soon."

He begins trudging onward.

[Percival]

"Eugh, get this off of me."

 

Fabrico uses his cloak to wipe the slime off of him, but it only makes things worse by soaking him in slick.

After cleaning themselves off, the group proceeds to the exit of the cavern.
