Shadowfall

[Blewcheese]

(Dun go!)

(Uh... Pops and Joseph are in two pretty different places. Pops is yet to enter the door.)

Joseph flinches.

"Gah! What in..."

He begins backing away.

[Will]

(Pffft, Violet's arms are elastic. I kid. Let's say Pops grabbed her arm.)

Violet's hair begins to rise, and she runs into the room with a surge of energy.

"Sorry, but I never chose you to be my Skulton!" awful pun ftw

Violet lets loose a massive bolt of lightning, which is a direct hit on the skeleton monster. It is briefly stunned, but not for long.

[Blewcheese]

(Your puns Will never be as good as mine! (See what I did there?))

"Say, where'd you learn to do that?"

Pops examines Violet closely.

[Will]

"That Maxwell guy. He turned my deformity into a gift. But that doesn't matter, we need to beat this thing!"

[Battal]

A large chunk of the Shade's rib cage explodes from Violet's lightning blast, and the being is flung back slowly, like in slow motion.  However, the chunks of rib cage are gripped by the shadowy mist, and drawn back into their previous location.

[Blewcheese]

Pops shakes his head, whips out his dagger, and proceeds to stab himself in the wrist. His blood flows down his arm.

[Battal]

The shade slowly advances on the group, hovering through the air towards them.  It lets out another soft moan from an unseen mouth.

[Battal]

Instead of moving even slower, the shade is completely unaffected by Kyle's powers.  It pulls something out of the air, then gestures towards Kyle with it.  Almost instantly, he finds himself slowed in time.

 

(Just to avoid confusion, the Forgotten are almost invincible.  So yes.)

[Blewcheese]

Pops begins manipulating the blood, and it is swirling around him in a spiral.

"Come on. Let's go."

A bit of his blood sprays onto Kyle, and he finds the slowing effects dissipate.

[Battal]

The shade makes another gesture, and the blood splashes to the ground, splattering the entire group.  The feeling of having to hide is stronger than ever.

[Battal]

As the mysterious shade grows nearer, the feeling grows stronger and stronger to the point where they want to duck behind the pillars.

[Battal]

The group ducks behind the columns.  All is silent for a few moments.  Then, a strange sniffing sound comes from the place they last saw the shade.

[Battal]

The creature is sniffing the air like a bloodhound, searching for the group.  It slowly turns its head towards Kyle, those white eyes burning into his soul.

[Blewcheese]

Pops and Joseph are hiding behind the pillar. Joseph shivers and lies down in the fetal position, but Pops is interested in the blood that was splattered on him.

[Battal]

The shade's hand suddenly comes around the pillar, grabbing the stone barely an inch from Kyle's head.  It slowly begins to hover around the column.

[Percival]

(Useless Surprise! I'm not good at roleplaying T_T)

 

As the hand hovers, something flies across the room with incredible force. It hits the arm, but it merely passes through, not affecting the shade.

 

When the object slams against the wall and falls, it turns out to be a cane topped with a blue gem.

Pops scraps as much blood off himself as possible, bloodying his hands. Joseph slowly recovers, standing up.

[Battal]

The creature stops, then turns towards the source of the cane.

[Battal]

Pops glances at Kyle and shakes his head, either indicating that he didn't know or couldn't explain.

[Percival]

(Later Debul. I have something planned.)

 

The gem glows a brighter azure as the hand neared closer, the rocks around it dissipating into dust.

The dust began to billow around the gem. Sparks began to fly, and the dust has became a blaze of fire.

 

(Surely a creature that has lived in darkness would fear heat and light?)

[Battal]

(It's blind, feels nothing, and can barely die.  It's not really afraid of anything.)

 

The Shade sighs once more, as if bored with having another thing to kill.  It reaches out to the flames, and a bolt of black fire blasts out of its hand and hurtles towards the blaze.

[Percival]

(I have the feeling you are going to destroy my character's only weapon. By all means...)

 

The gem on the staff cracks when the bolt nears, and the flames dissipates back into harmless dust.

Satisfied, the demon turns back to the group.

[Blewcheese]

Pops adds the strange blood to the already steady stream he had swirling around him, facing the beast.
