So I honestly don't even have a glimpse of coding but I love DS except in one point that really annoys me: Krampus never appears.So if anyone of you guys could make a mod which brings krampus back to his roots. He should be the same as in the update which introduced him. I would be very grateful!Sincerely,Userr3

You can alter how he is summoned very easily, and many mods help you do that without coding I think, but he is still quite weak.A real Krampus Buff Mod would not only buff hp/dmg and increase naughty rate, it would also give him special abilities, and maybe some weaknesses so that you can prepare for him accordingly.Such a Krampus Buff Mod is on my constantly growing to-do list :)

I can try to do something like this tonight. What about if he was susceptible to fire, but otherwise had very high damage resistance. That way you would need fire staves or open fire pits to lead him over to kill him, but normal tactics like traps and animal help wouldn't work. I'd have to make sure his sack won't burn. I don't think there's anything else in the game that requires fire to kill, for most things, fire is a bad solution because it destroys items. But fire is fun. We should have more fire. How did he spawn in the past that was different than now? I only started the game recently.

I don't think there's anything else in the game that requires fire to kill, for most things, fire is a bad solution because it destroys items. But fire is fun. We should have more fire.

What exactly do you want Krampus to be?

I would suggest a Krampus that is an actual threat:

 

-Reduce the naughtiness level at which Krampus spawns. (Half it)

-Increase the time it takes for naughtiness to decrease. (Double it)

-Buff Krampus Attack and Live a little bit. (15-20% maybe)

 

These small changes should make you think a little bit more before you slaughter animals. Also the Krampus Sack spawn rate could be increases to maybe 10%.

 

What do you think?

I've made a similar one, making him much stronger and smarter. But not making him spawn after killing less.

Nope he does not take things and the eyebone... I have seen your mod, i tried it, i also like it, but i hate to "force him out". I just want to spawn him also when you are not playing "i slaughter every living thing".

Yeah, you do kind of have to force him. Which really sucks in my opinion!

He spawns from doing naughty actions, go on to the wiki to see what is naughty and how naughty it is. The most efficient method, I find, is to make a an ice staff or two, go to a grassland, and kill every single redbird you see. They're 2 naughtiness and Krampus spawns at 30-50 naughtiness. Freeze a redbird and then kill it. You can do it with a walking cane, which takes 2 hits, but you have to be quick. (OR use the less known F key to auto-kill it. Or CTRL+F because the bird is neutral.)

"Hmm, I sure am hungry!  I think I'll just tally-ho over to this here chest and kill every rabbit inside it!"

 

*SNAP!*

 

"There's one!"

 

*SNAP!*

 

"There's tw - oy, hold still, ya bugger!"

 

*SPLURCH*

 

"Ah, yup, there's three!"

 

*SNAP!*

 

"Ya, that should be enoWHAT THE BLIGHTER IS THAT?!??!?!"

 

Krampus should take you by surprise, something you didn't know was there, something you should actually WORRY about.
