sharing maps

I know there is a multiplayer thread but i also think it would be cool and hopefully relatively easy to share maps with friends so that you can play single player games but using the same map.

the devs mentioned that instead of a multiplayer, the first player interaction on the agenda is off sync interaction. charing maps might be part of this.

i dont know how far this could go, though, seeing as maps are randomly generated. unless you could build traps for other players, you could make like an obstacle course for them. Or bury treasure around the island.

I dont necessarily even mean that much interaction, just being able to use the same map - ie sending the map file or generation key or however its done, so that I can play with a friend and both discuss where we are basing ourselves or has the other found the x or y on the map yet etc, just to help the group feeling of the game.

Given how often we change the generation logic, we would have to share the level itself, and not the key. It's something that we are researching at the moment, but would be a long-term thing if it happens.
