Tranoze
II cant even unlearn their swimming skill because it's their trait. Aquatic dupes need better protection type for swimming in lava. 2 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/172254-so-lava-swimming-is-a-thing-for-aquatic-dupe-now/ Share on other sites
Gurgel
I think it is not much of a problem. When clearing out lava, dupes pathing through the lava was already something to avoid. I think this got a tiny bit trickier, but not fundamentally so. Cautious Cookie
It would be cool if Jet Suits were given an upgrade that allows them to traverse through liquids. The jets could switch to electric fans when the dupes are underwater, and would only use power when underwater (not fuel used). I think the previous Jet Suit upgrade was great, so it's unfortunate that they are now a sidegrade for maneuverability (can now fly through air, but lose the ability to swim). And this would also give them a niche of being useful in lava. Pproy
It could be nice to have new late game atmosuit that resist very, VERY high temperature, to the point that dupe could chill in lava. Off course those suit would be built using late game material (insulite, plastium). It would only have niche application, but hey, why not. Simonova
What I would call the "noob trap" of this behavior, is that diamond and obsidian (useful building materials for their various properties) can end up in lava, where a dupe decides to retrieve it for an innocuous build order, potentially to their doom. That said, that's always been a hazard in the game, the difference being just how easily dupes are now able to find themselves pathing into the hazard (on the other side of things, if you accidentally drop a dupe into a pool of lava, and they're wearing an atmosuit, maybe they'd survive long enough to swim out now?)
