A weapon that causes wet would actually be really good for winowna given she has a certain funny glowy stick that she can use indefinitely.

Yeah, as well as a certain French chef who can make jello with lightning powers.

Plus given the dude actually talks about having owned goats when he was little in his quotes its almost unthinkable that he won't be getting skills to tame them to make that specific recipe easier.

I heard that the trident was a good counter to monkeys raids, and having just had a pirate raid with a trident on hand I can confidently say that no, it sucks at dealing with monkeys. I tried to use the spell on the boat, but it just said "action unavailable" and didn't summon any geysers. This item sucks really hard and needs buffs, or at the very least make it consistently work vs monkey raids so it has a niche.

It would feel pointless.

Why? Wormwoods bramble husk is insanely good. All they need to do is give ot the same stats as brightshade sword+ a special effect like command merms to do something.

To not sugar coat it, It’s just pointless bloat. Wurt really doesnt need a signature weapons (she already kinda does too). These kinds of additions are what makes a character feel bloated or lack direction.

Wormwoods thing was just an attempt to make his bramble husk skilltree do something post riff, as a replacement to just giving the regular husk planar stuff.

It’s not hard to craft if you explore the ocean and it has decent niche.

Honestly the wormwood skills are especially egregious just because of how they take an extra four points to really be positive. Since the skill that lets you offensively utilize bramble husks offensively is four points to reach, five, if you ignore the forced universal skillpoint that wormwood has to take.
I'm not against wormwoods lunar skills because the health sacrifice ones are immensely creative in a way I quite enjoy even.

The equipment ones would be something I appreciate if they didn't require you to spend half your points to really adequately benefit from them, but right now it just makes me want to wait for some rework that makes the plants tree less insight expensive.

Well, aside from a weird utility wormwood where you just go around making as many strange helpful resources from the weaker side of the games tech tree.

I've been testing this item out thanks to WX's shadow affinity and I've gotta say that this item just sucks. The geyser range is small, the damage is mediocre outside of boats even if it is good on boats (which doesn't mean much when you normally have to kill crab king, the hardest ocean boss, before you can make and use the item, and every other ocean enemy does not need a 76 damage weapon to kill quickly), fishing with this item is actually terrible (the geysers do nothing to try and make fish land on your boats, so 9 times out of 10 the fish will fly off in a random direction, wasting one of the 50 geyser casts you get), and the gnarwail horns you need to craft it are really annoying to get.

I'm surprised it didn't get changed when crab king got reworked. The only real use this weapon has is as a way to take out sea stacks from a distance, which is pretty sad for a boss weapon. Its not even a unique niche, as weather pains can do the same thing, even if they are more expensive. In the case of WX, there's no reason to dupe tridents, as you'd be better off duping weather pains which are much more versatile and useful in more scenarios.

The way people use the trident, is to get fish for a merm king.

You make a fish farm, by laying down dock kits in a circle (leaving out a few tiles in the middle), then spam read the angler's survival guide

use the strident trident

and then give the fish to the merm king

Granted this is a pretty oldschool farm at this point. It used to be an excellent way to farm tentacle spots, but boulderbough trees are just way more efficient at that now.

It's still the fastest way to get neutral seeds though (if you already have a fish farm).

Also the trident gives Wurt's merm guards the triple attack, with the right skill points.

It's not really a weapon in the usual sense.

Edit: post somehow got duplicated 5 times, so i edited out the dupes.
