When playing the Aquatic Planet Pack™ I can't help but think there was a missed opportunity to add a whale to the game.

Since whales eat plankton they could have added a new plant or building that produced plankton as germs.

If it was a plant it could be some growth planted on a wall planter.

And since it would be realising germs, we could make it so:

  1. It worked like fluecorals: they constantly spew plankton.
  2. They worked like a bristle blossoms: when you harvest this "plankton colonie" it would realese a lot of plankton when harvested.

Suggesting this because germs have been one of the most untouched mechanics of the game in a lot of time.

And working with benefitial germs or non-harmfull to duplicant germs seems like a great idea I just came up with.

This could also work for plants. Some plant would need to consume germs, and a critter realeses the germs to the air.

About the whale, here is an ugly drawing to represent the idea.

Edit: I just realized it would be better if a germ producing plant had to be harvested because if not, then it won't produce seeds.
