Peachiz
Sometimes when I'm in one of the overlays, building and deleting things, the pesky little deconstruct tool switches from deleting it's respective conduits (wires in electrical, pipes in plumbing, etc) to deleting everything. Everything. Buildings, pipes, wires, background, everything. It starts applying the deconstruct tag to everything when I think I'm just deleting wires because I'm in electrical, or some other overlay. In addition, it keeps your default deconstruct layer to "all" even when you exit the overlay. So I think I'm just re-wiring a certain section or changing some gas pipes around, and then my dupes start deconstructing my entire base! I've been experiencing this problem since ALPHA!!!! Luckily the "set default deconstruct layer" mod helped for a while, but recently it only works sporradically. Does anyone know how to fix this? 😔 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/172200-deconstruct-tool-deleting-half-my-base/ Share on other sites
BLACKBERREST3
I'm just gonna give you a list of mods to try as I find them. I don't know if these will help or not. Deconstruct Hotkey - Idk if this works the way I think it does, I'm hoping its a hotkey for each type of setting, but I could be wrong. Deconstruct Only Buildings - sets overworld default to buildings first when deconstructing Deconstruct Only Buildings Fix for Aquatic May not be as fully featured as set default deconstruct layer, but this seems to be the only alternatives I could find using the keyword "deconstruct". 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/172200-deconstruct-tool-deleting-half-my-base/#findComment-1872031 Share on other sites

I have had the "file save causes massive whatever selection" bug where if I'm dragging the digging or deconstruct or build tool at the exact moment it saves, it sometimes snaps across large areas of the asteroid and sets that whole area to do whatever my tool was doing. But I haven't had the problem of it switching to deconstructing everything. I guess I'll keep an eye out to see if it happens to me. In the meantime.. has a bug report been filed? I have a hunch that the problem comes from using the razer tartarus to control the game. I think some key combination was causing my problem. Since switching to this mod though, haven't had the problem again.
