After a hiatus of playing on public servers I decided to come back and try out the new update's content. I played with old friends and new ones we made on this very short journey but we failed to even reach the last room in the sanctum. Sadly, the server shortly shut down on its upon entering the activated sanctum. This could have been avoided by backup safe files (a thing of the past cause servers used to have these). I also wanted to adress the recent griefing attacks on the pubs I happen to be part of: There is at least one way to crash the server freely without anything non-admin players can do about. A random Wickerbottom joined the server, started to grief and was therefore voted on. During that vote said Wickerbottom rerolled the same day several times without any actual vote happening. After some time she decided to just crash the server for good. It truly saddens me to see that after years of addressing these server (mostly safe-file) issues still have not found an answer where people can enjoy content on the public servers wihtout constantly monitoring their blacklists to instantly engage on the known griefers joining. One mistake and the server is either gone for good or all progress is lost instantaneously. Jakepeng99 Posted June 14 Share Posted June 14 It kinda sucks but i reccomend playing on non-klei public servers like Meow Together and Don't fight together. These actually get moderated, will ban greifers, and both have methods to keep your world to play later. Meow together is best for survival servers and personal worlds since it can save them, and don't fight together is the best for public endless worlds if you are into the game progressing while you are offline and any of your friends can join any time. Klei servers restart every time the game gets updated.
