Resing a teen bird can be fine chalnage if you can commit to one thing for soomany days but i have ADHD so i made afk rasing machine

I.Diet

too make feeding teenbirds automatic we need food that dosent spoil fast, is easy to cook and also count as meat for reasons i explain later. The best food that check all boxes is breakfast skillet.

we gonna need around two and half stacks of it soo too keep that amount of food I propose 4 preservers near your kitchen- when all 4 is full u can put all food in binding wrap. You dont need to focus of cooking specificly this dish- the biggest pros of my method is you dont need to focus of this farm 24/7 soo just cook this dish when you have some spare ingredients during your notmal cooking and soon you will have a lot food stockpilled.

II. But how to auto-feed them?

Welp its not easy since we cant just put our slop on the groud and call it a day- it need to be somehow preseved from rotting and also somehow keep it on ground soo tallbirds could eat it. Ladies and Gentlemans meet marotter-based feeder.

I know it doesnt look impresive but what metter is what's inside. Soo lets look at it

III. Dispenser area

image.png.521471931d879fc7c29bc0fc83248dd9.png

This is the harder part to build- it's uses marotter ai. Marotter proritise food that is on ground soo as long as we have at last 1 dish on ground they will not punch next one out of isoleted backpack.

image.png.5c2abbded90dc3c5cfcb98c6a7f21a6c.pngToo place sail in good position you should stand next to farleft/farright wall (as u can see on screen shot) then match rope on it's preview with wall center. The ancient skin for stonewall can help you with that.

IV. Light

Too this farm to actually work you need infinite light? You wonder why? Welp i dont know but it's cause this stupid line of teenbird code that made them attack hostile mob in darkness. Thanks to @DVGMedia for datamine that.

local RETARGET_ONEOF_TAGS = {"player", "monster"}
local function TeenRetarget(inst)
    return FindEntity(inst, SpringCombatMod(TUNING.TEENBIRD_TARGET_DIST), function(guy)
        if inst.components.combat:CanTarget(guy) and (not guy:IsInLight()) then
            if inst.components.follower.leader ~= nil then
                return (guy:HasTag("monster") or (guy == inst.components.follower.leader and inst.components.hunger and inst.components.hunger:IsStarving()))
            else
                return guy:HasTag("monster") or guy:HasTag("tallbird")
            end
        end
    end,
    nil,
    nil,
    RETARGET_ONEOF_TAGS
    )
end

I personaly use enlightment shard in schroomlight. But you can use other methods for infinite light.

V. Tallbird unstupider

image.png.320876b48ec5abdfdeaa9756357866e6.pngSoo there is one more problem with teenbirds- they are stupid. they can starve to death in cage full of good food just because they notice some random seed first. Soo we need use electric fances to reset their AI (sorry)

image.png.bca65a0926c0870ca08bed99f1919e9b.png

VI. location

if you are base-guy who build alot you can ofc put this farm next to area when you are all the time. but if you wanna afk like God intended you need rether empty area close to water soo you could avoid hounds attack on the boat. If you want more than one of those strucutre you need to remember to keep distance since our dispneser fuel is not allowed to see others one food.

VII. Are u sure this will work?

image.png.e42e072c9f19db5f31a921c453126826.png

Yes. I already try do is 100 times on creative and only 2 of them died in process. just remember to keep area loaded and they will be fine.

If there are two mobs that deserve this treatment, those are the ones.

My condolences to the World's Only(?) Official Tallbirdologist, but I still haven't forgiven the last batch of smallbirds I raised

This is a classic example of players discovering a use of using mob interactions in ways the developers could not have remotely intended for players to utilize that end up causing some really cool results. What a cool little build!
