What a baffling decision to make. DST is a multiplayer game where you're able to share your skins with friends, yet backpacks (and specifically only backpacks) would rot and become this disgusting pile of mold if you left them on the ground for a few days. Only if they had a skin on though, so it's not like it was a game mechanic where your backpack made of grass and twigs would rot and break after a few days.

This isn't meant to be a hate thread or anything, I just saw a mod on the workshop that disabled backpack rotting and was reminded of how ridiculous of a design choice it was to make backpacks rot.

They had to be on the ground for so long. I only ever saw it happen to disconnected players' backpacks. It was awesome. You'd stumble upon an old corpse and the backpack was rotten.

I don't know why you're still upset about this so much later. It's been so many years since it was removed.
