Frustrated
Spoiler The turbines are working fine. I experimented with the broken one. Wound up being too close to the volcano. But the other two buildings were just fine through the first eruption cycle. Why are they breaking now? I do not have any geotuners active on the volcano. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171485-is-there-a-reason-why-my-steel-sweeper-and-receptacle-are-overheating/ Share on other sites
MinhPham
Move the liquid vent closer to the volcano, that would solve the problem. For the "why" part, the steam turbines just remove steam from the room, what cooled the room was the 95C water that cycled back into the room. If you look at the temperature spectrum, it is much cooler on the aquatuner part and much hotter near the volcano. Frustrated
I'll probably have to wait for the next dormant cycle then. 2 months away. Thanks for the advice, though. MinhPham
More steam would prevent the room from heating up too fast, but can't be too much, the metal volcano will be overpressure at 150kg/title, add some tempshift plate to increate heat capacity, with a diamond tempshift plate on the volcano output tile you can even build the steel conveyor rail there without worry about melting. Also while duplicants can no longer pickup stuffs diagonally, they can still build stuffs diagonally, i'm confident that you can remove the topleft corner tile, then build another liquid vent inside the room Edited May 11 by MinhPham 2 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171485-is-there-a-reason-why-my-steel-sweeper-and-receptacle-are-overheating/#findComment-1866668 Share on other sites
Frustrated
I wound up going against what I said and opened the room up during an idle shift. Repaired the sweepers and receptacle, broke down the vent and replaced it a bit closer to the volcano. Not right over the volcano, though. Where would I put the tempshift plate, though? MinhPham
I'm assume that all the sweepers and the loader are broken, in that case there's no need to build an emergency liquid vent next to the volcano ... The tempshift plate are both heat storage and conductor so you can build pretty much anywhere you like, don't let them touch the walls, it will get hot too Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/171485-is-there-a-reason-why-my-steel-sweeper-and-receptacle-are-overheating/#findComment-1866689 Share on other sites
