It's a niche structure, could get this little QoL change.

    • Well duh! It's NIGHT Light after all!
    • Meh, no special treatment, Night Hands do like to get touchy...

exactly, even if it was immune to hands it still needs to last at least more than 2 days , its alrdy expensive it must last long

Well, if it was immune to Night Hands and maybe even unaffected by rain it would be much more reliable to use as a light source even without being that long.

I would even amp the sanity drain up depending on the flame stage and consider it refueling itself when Shadow/Nightmare Creatures are killed in the vicinity. It would become a great structure to have in the ruins!

it should stay lit if theres an insane player nearby at least , 

 

also its expensive if it dosnt last way longer than a firepit its not worth making

It's expensive early on, but for a second ruins delve and every next one Nightmare Fuel is abundant and you have Gold Nuggets from Frazzled Wires and a mass of gems, you could build a Night Light in most safe spots to have a reliable* light source without wasting Star Caller's Staves.

 

*That is considering my suggestion would be implemented, because for now it's far from being a reliable light source in ruins due to constant insanity...

I'd like them to act as sort of enchanted 'land claiming' marker of sorts for reinforcing structures and areas for public server use. While lit, and lit for a VERY long time, would claim territory, extremely greatly reinforce walls and negate player-caused hammering/fire
