I've been really interested in Wigfrid lately, but she definitely suffers from the early skill tree growing pains a little. To be clear though, I think most of her skill tree is fine. I actually don't hate the beefalo skills even as someone who isn't a big fan of beefalo, and I like that she focuses on getting new pieces of equipment for her arsenal. She can kind of play unaligned and that's also really cool, her endgame looks really different from other characters due to her elding spear. However, I think there's small problems sprinkled in here and there, and if Klei does want to return to existing skill trees in the future for a quick, simple touchup Wigfrid should be one of the first ones they should look at.

1. I'd love to see the Elding Spear be rechargeable with a lightning rod, similar to the change the morning star just got. This would make the weapon significantly more usable before celestial champion, since its steep cost makes using it before then feel honestly a little wasteful.

2. I would love Startling Soliloquy and Rude Interlude to be buffed. This was a problem well before the skill trees. Startling Soliloquy is a semi lengthy animation that costs inspiration that only lasts 4 seconds, and especially with WX getting the supersonic circuit which lasts 8 seconds (at its base, and can even be extended to 12 seconds or indefinitely) at zero cost aside from a brief cooldown feels a little bad. At the bare minimum, I can see Startling Soliloquy going up to 8 seconds too. Rude Interlude can also be buffed to keep attention on Wigfrid for a few seconds (likely 8 as well) ignoring all other sources of damage from other players or followers, letting it serve the role it was clearly meant for.

3. This last suggestion isn't really minor but I want to see Dark Lament and Enlightened Lullaby significantly changed. It's a little saddening how little impact they have, only being significant in large groups where the excess damage isn't needed anyway. I'd love to see if these can get entirely different and unique effects that would make them not only more competitive with each other but generally more interesting and exciting, especially in a modern skill tree world where affinities often provide major gameplay changes for a character such as WX, Wendy, Walter, and even the character she shared a spotlight with, Willow.

Otherwise, I think Wigfrid is a pretty well designed character. I'd play her a ton if the above points were considered. I'd love to see what others have to say though

kind of wish i posted this in suggestions in hindsight
