I know that it’s probably done unintentionally… but Wendy fluttering down off a hill safely with an umbrella in the DSE teaser trailer has got me seriously thinking about how that one simple animation can change the entire way we play the franchise.

For context I’ve been playing the Lego Batman games back to back in order of release to prep for the new coming soon. But in said Lego games there is a “glide mechanic” or well more accurately: A set list of characters or suits that allows the player to “Glide”

Gliding in the Lego games is usually used to go across gaps, or to go from a very high up point safely back down to a lower point, and obviously the higher up you are when you start a glide, the further you can cover in distance before needing to land.

And so I question to what extent (If any) this will have in DSE? Will it be like playing as Penguin in Lego Batman 2 where he uses his Umbrella to freely glide large distance across the City? Or how Knuckles Glides in the Sonic Games?, Or will it be restricted to just gliding straight downwards?

I have drawn a poorly put together demonstration of why and HOW this could be used in DSE. Hopefully the image explains it better than my paragraphs can.

Please Klei don’t just throw elevations into your game just because it’s something a lot of fans asked for the sake of having it please make sure you actually get super creative with this new perspective and pour your heart into creating something amazing! 🫶🏻♥️
