KINOTAKO Posted yesterday at 05:16 AM Share Posted yesterday at 05:16 AM (edited) Currently, it is unfortunately undeniable that the Gamma circuits feel incomplete. Alpha (α): 231 combinations Beta (β): 247 combinations Gamma (γ): Only 4 combinations This is a genuinely serious issue... There are only 4 possible combinations to fully fill the slots. I honestly hesitate to suggest this, as it's a half-compromise that assumes no new Gamma circuits will be added. With the Affinity additions not filling this gap, I fear it might already be too late in development to implement entirely new Gamma circuits. So, I am putting this forward as a last resort. The only way to increase the number of combinations without adding new Gamma circuits is to lower the pin costs of the existing ones: Shield Circuit: 4 → 3 Sonic Circuit: 3 → 2 redigestion Circuit: 2 → 1 If you could make this adjustment, the number of full Gamma combinations would increase to 13, which would be a huge improvement. This can be achieved simply by tweaking the pin values, so please, I beg you to consider it. Still, if by some miracle it's possible, please add 1 or 2 new Gamma circuits. I understand it's too unrealistic to formally propose this now. That is why I leave this not as a proposal, but as a prayer from a long-time fan of WX's circuits. KINOTAKO
One thing I forgot to mention: a reduction in pin costs would obviously come with a numerical nerf to their abilities. If you have any opinions or feedback on the specific pin reduction values, please let me know. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170947-a-final-proposal-for-gamma-circuits/#findComment-1862966 Share on other sites
TioKaien
I suggested in another post that they could turn the illumination circuit into an active toggle skill and it could help solve the single-pin gamma circuit problem Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170947-a-final-proposal-for-gamma-circuits/#findComment-1862974 Share on other sites
KINOTAKO
Yeah, exactly ^^ Actually, I've seen other people hoping to move some of the Beta circuits up to the Gamma tier, too. Well, which circuits get moved is ultimately up to Klei. If they decide to move a 1-slot circuit to Gamma, then the Regurgitation circuit is totally fine staying at 2 slots. Frashaw27
I don't think simply reducing the number of pins per circuit is gonna do much. You incite the number of combinations that the other ones get, but that's also because they have over double the amount as the Gamma ones. It simply just needs more to drive engagement instead adding more slots to put in the same three choices. Some Ideas: Powerdown Circuit - 1 Pin, Mandrake or Berger Allows Wx to retreat into a backup stance where they will gradually recover hp and sanity at the cost of hunger. If the player had the perk to allow beta circuits to run on backups, those would remain in effect. Gamma Improvment 1 would allow Wx to gradually reset their temp and wetness back to normal levels, essentially making it the same as say standing next to a burning tree. More inserts would make the conversions more efficent by quicker times for lower resource cost. This would help during the early game as it would allow Wx easier management of their stats before gaining a lot of the things that make it easier like the respective circuits and gaining a good crop farm. Not game changing but nice for new players and if your pants are down. Power Strike - 2 Pins, both boss Werepigs First hit deals 15 -> 35 -> 50% more damage when using a weapon. Goes on a 30 second cooldown. Gamma Trinket 2 makes this damage electric and gives +10 base damage to electrical weapons. Mostly meant for single encounters like a Malbatross where you want to focus more on big hits over a lot. Probably not the best but variety is the spice of life. In all honesty, just moving the compartment circuit would be the easiest solution because then there would be something to compete with the spin circuit late game. 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170947-a-final-proposal-for-gamma-circuits/#findComment-1863049 Share on other sites
KINOTAKO
Sadly, it's safe to say that new Gamma circuits are highly unlikely to be added at this point. I've been pointing out this issue ever since the initial four Gamma circuits were introduced. However, since there has been absolutely no response, they probably just don't have any plans to add more. And the most plausible opportunity for them—adding alignment-based Gamma circuits through the Affinity system—is now off the table. Given that even the Shadow Affinity isn't fully finished yet, they really must not have the time to develop brand new Gamma circuits. If you all genuinely want new Gamma circuits as much as I do, let's create a dedicated topic to request them and show the devs our passion through our likes! 1 Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/170947-a-final-proposal-for-gamma-circuits/#findComment-1863076 Share on other sites
