No changes compared to yesterday's beta build.

Manually enabling Year of the Clockwork Knight event from world settings will let you have unlimited Knights.

Is it only for knights and not the others? I mainly used bishops for my armies

Why hasn't the update been released on consoles? Will it be released on Monday like they say? Four days is a long time 🥲

We'll need a few more days for console since we need a new build for console that holds off the shadow affinity portion of the tree. We expect this to be released for console on Monday. well guess update added kind of nothing for me realy, alsol on a differend note...anyone else feel like this animation was kind of.....off? like it was way more gameplay then usual then actual animation

well not everything is for everyone. maybe you will get lucky with the next one? the only updates that were for me was the one with the bush skins and the walter update x''D the rest were for others

The current defect of the possessed chassis

1. Won't move away when burned by flames.

2. Won't counterattack when attacked.

3. Won't pick up when weapons drop.

4. Randomly release sound waves and block.

5. No obvious distinguishable features between individuals.

6. Can't use items inside the expansion unit.

7. When rotating and attacking, only high-attack weapons will be selected instead of rotatable high-attack weapons.

8 Rotating attacks cannot force attacks on friendly units.

9. It is impossible to conveniently view their inventories or determine their status.

10. Repair kits cannot be used.

11. Their behavior completely imitates that of players and they have no autonomy at all.

12. Even though they have sleep modes (offline and up and down caves), players are prohibited from actively putting them into sleep mode

I want to applause klei devs.

They kept in secret Elsewhere development for 2 (or more?) years to make us happy, and they care about community reaction so they approached this release pretty carefully. They reveiled awesome part of lore, and current WX... His gameplay is so connected to his personality! I mean, come on! I spend whole autumn and winter rushing for different bio-data, MANY bio-data and circuits research, for gears, for gems, for scrap, etc. If feels like WX-78 has his own way to deal with the Constant, he is not bothered e.g. by base creation, or walls setup, or manual sailing to seek for Crabs family / lunar island. He is like "I'll automate it, I'll deliver it here, I'll place my chassis there for access to this, I'll force these pigs to work for me with my motivation song" etc.

I love how it plays. It has balance between effort and power. If WX-78 lucks something, it's probably team-play because he needs so much for himself (e.g. red gems, gears, armor, pan flute, etc.) and doesn't actually provides to the team resource wise. In other words, he is a little parasitic team player, he can benefit from others (e.g. Winona / Wickerbottom) but doesn't really brings to the table much with such playstyle. But I think this is within his character. So I welcome robot in my solo-worlds now.

And yes I know people can play it differently like sharing maps/bringing resources from far away etc, but I'll leave it for Walter)

As much as I appreciate the updates recently there definitely seems to be slight favoritism towards playstation over xbox as xbox doesn't even have a series s/x version or enhancements and updates consistently take longer on Xbox than Playstation as of recently yotk and rn for example.

And playstation is on the new build as of about 7:30 PM est yesterday

Keep up the great work klei just please work on something for us xbox series s/x players and if you can try your best to get the update out today i would rather have the weekend to play instead of having it come out on Monday and not really having time for it.

11. 他们的行为完全模仿玩家,完全没有自主权。

12. 尽管它们有睡眠模式(离线和上下洞穴),玩家被禁止主动将其置于睡眠模式

I strongly agree with the 10th point. I think it would be a good idea to allow it to automatically use materials such as repair kits/Nightmare Fuel to repair equipment, or to have a backup function that can autonomously discard equipment with zero durability.

In addition, I have made a list of the equipment that can be repaired/replenished:
W.A.R.B.I.S. equipment;
Tools, equipment, and weapons from the Brightshade series;
Tools, equipment, and weapons from the Void series;
Howlitzer;
Bone Armor

Im just curious as to why use the old WX rework theme for the menu when you clearly composed something new for the Beta, and then presumably scrapped it? Why compose something brand new and then just... not have it be used???

Is this change still only going to affect knights for the foreseeable future? If so, is there any way I'm able to go back a version in order to continue one of my saves without the cap? I've got this big project that utilizes the uncapped follower count, and this change really tramples on what I had planned. I'm fine if there's going to be a cap in the main branch, but it'd be swell if you could still have as many clockworks as you wanted with YOTK turned on. Unlimited knights are thematic for the event, but it feels like a pretty weak compromise with how many of the others you could have during the entirety of the event.

Hi, could a dev please clarify whether the “console on Monday” release includes Nintendo Switch specifically?

The WX-78 Skill Spotlight update is still not showing up on Switch on my end, while some players are saying PlayStation already received it. Is the Switch release still planned for today, or has it been delayed separately?

Thanks.

Everyone's favorite soulless automaton is due for an upgrade to ensure their reign of terror over the innocent organics of the Constant continues.

WX-78 Skill Spotlight

The WX-78 skill spotlight is now available on Steam. We want to give shadow affinity part of the skill tree a little more time in beta, and we'll hotfix it in as soon as we have it ready for you. We'll need a few more days for console since we need a new build for console that holds off the shadow affinity portion of the tree. We expect this to be released for console on Monday. We apologize for the inconvenience here, but we think it's worth it for us to make sure Shadow Affinity meets our expectations.

Highlights

- WX-78 Skill Tree added.
- WX-78 base Circuit system expanded to 3 bars.
- Added several new Circuits.
- Now that Year of the Clockwork Knight is over, players will be limited to 2 (or 3 for WX-78) of each type of Clockwork followers at a time.

I am trying to play on consoles past Monday but its not saying the upd is out

I think we’re already feeling the impact of Klei working on several projects at the same time; I think we can expect this kind of situation from now on 😞

I’m okay with production being this slow on DST a 15$ game that’s been around for ten years, but if updates are this slow on DSE a brand new game that’s coming who knows when and will likely be more expensive then 15$… then the games already dead in the water, lost in the fog.

That’s because only PlayStation has the update, this isn’t a new trend either, PlayStation usually gets the updates first and holds them exclusively for 1-2 weeks, then the update comes to Xbox and several months later eventually make their way to Switch. There have been times where updates came on all platforms at the same time (mainly old holiday event stuff) but those times have been few and far between.

I also agree with Klei Entertainment slowing down development on Don't Starve Together to focus on Don't Starve: Newhome—they made it clear in their roadmap that this would happen, so that part is understandable. What concerns me more is that the skill tree was released incomplete, and that it still hasn’t come out on consoles, or in some cases arrived on PlayStation but not Xbox without any communication from Klei. That lack of clarity is what feels disappointing.

That said, I still support Klei’s new initiatives—I’d just really appreciate it if they could maintain one of their strongest qualities: staying close and communicative with their community.
