I wanted to know if anybody had some ideas for a 1 slot gamma circuits. Heck, even a 2 slot circuit that could stack with itself would be interesting side offer. I see some simple options like making range booster also slot in gamma, but I don't feel like that would fit. The circuits should keep the identity of only being able to be slotted in 1 category. The gamma circuits don't necessarily feel incomplete, it's just there's a lack of options. I have my own idea if anyone was curious, but it's a little complex and it might be too complex:

One slots are tipically reversed for stacking circuits, which have a more numerical nature, but gamma circuits are the active circuits with active effect, so its a weird mix. Doritosdamafia's idea is well executed but i dont think its useful, even if you could choose the compass target from the scrapbook the drone is already perfect for finding biomes/setpieces/structutes

That sounds like a really good idea. It fits nicely with the robot scanning theme that WX has going on. I feel like another idea could be creature finder to help people who haven't played the game as much find what they need to scan for a certain circuit.

I got a few ideas:

  1. A 1 slot gamma circuit that gives you the ability to catch small animals (butterfly, bee) without any tool, this could be upgraded to 2 slot circuit and will be able to catch gestalts and a bit bigger animals (rabbit, spiders), this action would either have a longer cooldown or would drain either hunger or sanity. This circuit would be useful for even late game and the lunar side.
  2. A 2 to 3 slot gamma circuit that lets you shield yourself from rain and you will not be able to move while doing this (big cooldown and more circuits means faster drying from wetness), it could have an upgrade (almost all or all slots) that makes you either almost or completely resistant to rain while also being able to move while active but with timer (requiring boss drops or something), alternatively it could just raise the wetness threshold.
  3. A 4/5/6 gamma circuit that gives you the ability to consume resources, twigs, grass, rocks and so on will give like 1 hunger and for example dreadstone would give like 20 hunger, -20 sanity and 20 health.
  4. A 1 to 3 slot gamma circuit that gives you the ability to be a pirate = paddle without a paddle, faster actions on boats, more circuits means no cursed trinkets and monkeys are neutral.
  5. A random amount of slots, from 1 to 6 gamma circuit that when you craft or plug in can have from 1 to 6 slots and will increase luck.
  6. A 2 to 4 slot circuit that would give you a personal floater ability, jumping or falling in water would inflate a lifebuoy around you, like personal floater but with a cooldown.

Number of slots could be changed. I wonder what others think of these ideas :wilson_vforvictory:

Oh like WX doing some hermetic sealing? What if it can temporarily hermetically seal WX, not impeding movement, allowing you to stop rain and acid rain for a while and every circuit increases the active time by a LOT, but the cooldown is also really long and doesnt change? I love your idea for an active circuit that stops water!

Luck and ways to gain luck are too underdeveloped for that right now

I think the future shadow affinity will affect circuit slots

oh yeah, forgot to mention that this would also make you acid proof during acid rain and having more plugged in would make it better (havent thought of that yet, so its up to your imagination, because it is an idea).

number 2 would not help you if you fell in the ocean, it could only slowly dry you while protecting you from the rain after you drown, like being inactive chassis or make you vibrate to expell all the water from you like some watches/phones do.

I like this idea the most out of them all, it feels like it fits really nicely with the lunar side. I don't feel like a cooldown or a punishment is really necessary as the biggest thing you can capture isn't really that much of a threat. Maybe catching a Gestalt makes you sleep or something, but for the other captures; I don't see a reason to give it a downside.

A small cooldown perhaps, bees, spiders and other critters would be an easy target and it could be abused for flowers or other character specific mechanics, if it wouldn't have a cooldown.

this is awesome Idea, It gives a cool dinamic with the other Circuits. So essencially Decrease the cooldown of other gamma circuits?

Squids already have a scan(super illum) so you can get it on surface only worlds

 

My idea for 1 circuit gamma is a "leap ability") like the demo mod "frog webber", more circuits=further leap, frogs being scanned to unlock, uses frog legs to make. tinker effect, small knockback on landing, slightly larger aoe with each additional circuit
