Shadow can be purely combat orientated with lunar having both combat and farming abilities for the much higher cost and micromanaging. Atleast the shadow clockworks make sense, why would wx control mimics? How about the shadow affinity instead focuses on buffing Wx with no mob focus with Wx becoming his own "shadow clockwork" with each slot of different fuel turning wx into his own tier 1-3 shadow clockwork form which lasts for a set period of time which Wx gets all sorts of buffs. The shadow part gets consumed eventually with nightmare fuel getting consumed fast and possessed shadow atrium lasting a long time. This is much better and thematically fitting, shadow clockworks look more organic in nature, wx shadow form could make him "more organic" which fits the corruption theme. Gashzer Posted Thursday at 06:47 PM Share Posted Thursday at 06:47 PM (edited) To expand on the shadow clockwork form idea, Slotting nightmare fuel into the shadow affinity slot gets instantly consumed, lowering wx's sanity by 10 and slowly corrupting his circuit tab. After consuming 10 nightmare fuel, corruption maxes out and overrides all of wx's equipped circuits and disables them turning wx into his tier 1 shadow form with its own stats and abilities for half a day. After corruption ends the circuits are reactivated but wx loses all his charge. This would apply for the tier 2 and 3 forms too. This way a build which isnt focused on the very dominate circuit skills can be made. Using the shadow affinity as a powerful but temporary replacement for circuits during combat, allowing for heavy skill investment into drone/chassis/utility skills. This gives wx players freedom to choose diverse playstyles. Edit: corrupted shadow form wx, can "spread" his corruption to any chassis he transfers to allowing him to maintain his shadow form while chassis teleporting regardless of circuits. However, the main point of my statement is more about the two types of hearts. They can perform more differentiation and more functions, but there's no need to completely remove the part for circuit upgrade inheritance. It still depends on the designer's own ideas.
