I really don't see myself or majority of the players ever picking lunar affinity skill and this is sad considering that developers put so much effort into coding it. I'll go over all the problems I have with it.

They aren't meant to be permanent but the cost is quite high 12 bio data and 2 scrap, chassis need to be possessed so this is very punishing unless you have crown with jewels and when your possessed chassis dies you can activate it again but the cost is still there so even without the possession its already enough.

Going to caves is instant loss as they are deactivated at the same spot and you won't even be able to activate them again without enlightened crown with jewels or wasting a lot of time to move them to lunar.

Getting all the gear, circuits, food and jelly beans to be able to upkeep them is really not worth it. I do understand that you might still get a lot of circuits for chassis that you want to teleport to but the setup will be different depending on the task, they won't all require same circuits. This setup will be useless to you If you stop using lunar affinity since you will want to have your chassis with different builds.

With the current costs and problems you will have using this affinity I think it wouldn't even be overpowered If they had 100% of the player damage. If I wanted to play with minions I'd just go with Wurt and the damage is much better without any of the upkeep or risk.

Chassis are important source of map movement because of teleportation but still a bit annoying compared to other characters, I wish we had QOL where with transport skill we could tick a box "Would you want your whole inventory to be sent to you?" and the drones would automatically pack everything (including themselves) when you teleport and go to your active chassis that you teleported to and follow it around until interacted with. This could also be implemented to shadow affinity so your inventory always moves to chassis you teleport to instantly.

Overall I really like this skill tree and I think one skill tree per update is the way to go as so much can be done as we have seen here how creative it is and how many smaller perks are packed into it that are very interesting.

This has changed! they reactivate if you return back!

Ease of access is always going to be a consideration along side maximum potential. My big issue is how it tends to mess with the use of the bodies as teleports, having the ability to set up a body in the ruins next to a fixed up station to make ruins equipment or near goats for electric milk collection when ever is just too valuable for me.

Not to mention having to manage so much potential up-keep, don't get me wrong, on paper it's crazy but in practice it's a bunch of work for minions that are pretty good for a couple things, but doing things yourself shadow wise is just more comfortable to use. (also really wanted a vacuum gamma to compliment the harvesting of the spin circuit but shadow affinity is good too)

I'm not even sure if we have to worry about the poor things short circuiting because of rain or not, let alone the fact we have to up-keep sanity and hunger. It's neat but there are too many things making it troublesome to use, where as on the other end, potential day one application, gets better overtime as you progress and can have synergies with the idea of Wx duplicating useful items.

Now they drop the spectral transfer module when it possesses the body.

Nice idea.

Like you said there are some problems with lunar affinity. But hopefully they will make it better. It has so much potential! :wilson_goodjob:

I also think the Moon alignment is still not as good as the Shadow one right now, but the Moon is really fun and could be worth picking with some more tweaks.

Shadow has way too much potential. Being able to use mimic items lets a lot of gear have effectively infinite durability, which is especially good for expensive, low-durability items. I don’t even understand why people complain about Shadow — probably just not enough game knowledge to figure out good combinations.

Using Moon comes at a steep cost: it takes up chassis slots that could be used for teleportation, has maintenance costs and gear durability drain, and resummoning clones is a huge hassle.

Each clone only fights like half a player, but uses up a full set of player gear. At this point, the gear cost is barely different between summoning clones and not summoning them.

So why wouldn’t I just fight with my main character? The cost is the same; it just takes a bit longer.

It’s really hard for me to pass up Shadow and choose Moon alignment instead.

The recent changes are great but I still wouldn't even consider lunar affinity. By the time you get to the late game when you can reliably upkeep possessed chassis would you really trade your map access/teleportation for it?

Lunar affinity seems like all or nothing, you won't pick it and only have one possessed chassis that does 50% of player damage and requires upkeep when you can just pick shadow affinity and get the damage boost yourself. Shadow affinity also allows you to use mimicked items which is quite good.

I haven't emphasized this enough, we really need QOL to move inventory to chassis with less input from player, this is currently my biggest issue with the skill tree.

People arent complaining cause its bad, we all know shadow is way better affinity atm, we are complaining cause they are skills that dont really fit wx, they are kinda shadowy using stuff that would probably best suit for maxwell or wanda. We are not saying they are bad, we are saying they dont fit with wx kit thematicly!

That's the whole point of shadow affinity being as simple as it is. If you like lunar affinity's gimmick then you use that. Otherwise, shadow is simple yet effective. Shadow probably will be the better choice usually, but the playstyle lunar offers is at least different.

I like that shadow is chill and lunar is for big number power gaming minmaxing.

Its more of a early/late game for shadow and lunar aligment.

you need more food (gears) and moonstorms/rifts to not wast much time on having them rather than travelling and getting back from lunar island, and also get a bunch more circuits for each possession.

making the tp and warm stanby worse by reducing availability kinda sucks BUT you can just spend instead those points on having all circuits skills so it isn't that bad

the playstyle it offers is bootleg Maxwell with 40 extra steps and costs.

Kind of wish you was like old school Maxwell clones where they help with everything but they only help with like the tool tasks.
