Changes

  • Updated art on Backup Chassis and Circuit UI based on the Implanted Shadow item.
  • Possessed Chassis changes:
    • Kiting behaviour improved to match the distance of the player to the target.
    • Stops moving when the player is attempting to feed them.
    • Automatically re-equips tools and armor from their inventory when one breaks.
      • NOTE: re-equipping weapons did not make it into this build yet.
    • Reverts to dormant Chassis when the player logs off or travels between Forest/Caves, and automatically reactivates to Possessed Chassis when the player returns.
      • KNOWN ISSUE: If you are playing alone on the server, you may have to travel back and forth between Forest/Caves twice for this to work right now.
    • Added FX to differentiate between regular death vs. sanity depletion.
    • No longer drops inventory upon death.
    • Spectral Transfer Module will drop out once a Gestalt successfully possesses the Chassis, allowing it to be reused.
    • KNOWN ISSUE: Possessed Chassis saved in previous Beta version may not function properly, and may need to be manually removed.
  • Hammers can no longer be used with Spin-Cycle Circuit, only Axes and Pickaxes.

 

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where WX-78 could be targeted by Enlightened Crown Gestalts spawned by their own Possessed Chassis.
  • Fixed Possessed Chassis being able to equip other character-exclusive items.
  • Fixed Possessed Chassis losing all the inventory from the Backup Chassis.
  • Fixed Possessed Chassis not properly moving when trying to sync with your actions.
  • Fixed a crash when Possessed Chassis enters tree shade.
  • Fixed crashes with Backup Chassis related to socketholder component.
  • Fixed a crash sometimes when Bearger is interrupted during combo attacks.
  • Fixed a crash sometimes when interrupted during spin attack.
  • Fixed slipperiness failing to accumulate while spinning on ice.

So, them being hungry is intentional... At very least Spectral Transfer Module is no longer one time use.
Being able to access their stats without mods would be helpful.

In an attempt to mitigate the hunger maintenance of the Possessed Chassis, do you think you could make them search for food/gears in their own inventory to eat when their hunger is low enough?

At least then, we could supply them with a stack of food to sate them for awhile, and it'd be balanced since resources are being spent rather than being completely free.

I feel like the amount of power creep in these skill trees is begging for some balance changes elsewhere. When a character gets access to both very high damage and very good resource gathering in their skill tree, it kind of makes it feel like choosing some of the roster is just playing a challenge character. Like wigfrid is supposed to be a tanky damage dealer, but she won't be able to hold a candle to wx damage, barely beats their tankiness, and cannot compare with their resource gathering ability. Idk, I'm concerned about the power creep.

I think characters themselves can't re-equipping weapons, too. Does this mean that this inconvenience finally gets improved?

Automatic weapon swapping? You mean the backup body has an inventory now? Just the idea of three mobile Chesters with 15 slots each sounds insane enough, let alone upgrading them to a version with a stack limit of 999+ per slot.

If you put Hound's Tooth in them, would they automatically reload the Howlitzer when using it?

They die from hunger and from going low on sanity - it is a Gestalt controlling their chassis, using them as mobile chesters is a really dumb idea. We can't even access their inventory while they are "alive". Did you test the beta?

Not yet,Would inserting something like the Super-Gastrogain Circuit help?

It suddenly feels like raising a real pet in DST — more authentic and richer than other creatures that are actually set as pets.

A good character design requires meticulous refinement. Personally, I don't care when this skill tree will be launched. As long as it is thoughtful and excellent enough, you can give yourselves some time. There's no need to be in such a hurry. Quality is far more important than speed. I'm really looking forward to this update being as excellent as the remake of Maxwell back then. I believe you can do it. Come on!
