No alignments yet is crazy. Even if it wasn’t being released next week, it should have been a thing from the beginning if they wanted feedback, after not doing any for a whole year, this skilltree just feels like a long waiting room. Somehow Wendy and Walter’s skill trees got more changes while being worked on simultaneously, than WX-78’s, even though it has the whole stage to itself.

The skill tree is still unfinished (feedback is limited) so it doesn’t seem like they’re going to remove skills or change the layout of the skilltree. But maybe they’ll pull a Walter, which is what I was expecting from the beginning, a complete skill removal and replacement, instead of just number tweaks and adding some unfinished elements.

and if they really really wanted feedback, they already have like more than 10 different fan-made skill tree concepts for WX, so if they want to know what we want to see, it’s all there. We were expecting a mech, but the chassis is kind of okay. The sprite is really uncanny, though.

Scouting, scaring, storing, teleporting, and resurrecting even defending are concepts already explored.

You're acting like this is Wormwood's skill tree where the entire thing is wasting 10 points to get the 5 skills you want instead of wasting 1 point to get the extremely powerful constant free teleportation. If you weren't supposed to pick worse skills to get better skills it would be a skill carpet, not a skill tree.

Yeah, you're right. Taking skills you don't care about to get skills you do care about is how skill trees work. It's annoying when most of the skills are bad but just a single bad skill to get the best skill in the game is perfectly fine.

Sure, let's take Woodie's skill tree for example. Let's even look at his Goose skills like you said. Why is teleporting locked behind a useless dodge, a useless water resistance, and a movement speed increase? You picked the best possible comparison you could, because WX's skill tree is literally that exact same thing. The only correlation those have is that they're for the Goose form, but the skills themselves are so random. Just like WX's skill tree. The only correlation they have is they're for the backup chassis. The final skill is even teleportation! But you aren't complaining about Woodie needing to spend 3 points on useless perks and locking yourself out of the other transformation lines, because Woodie's teleport sucks and you don't want to use it. But WX's teleport is overpowered, so you want to use it, so you're complaining about needing to spend 1 skill point (not 3, 1) on a useless perk.

I agree on wormwood skilltree having lots of filler skills but just because of that shouldn't i make a suggestion to make the skill tree better just because wormwood or some other character has it worse?

Still, i feel like you are saying this just because wormwood has it worse.

My example might have been wrong like you said. But i think you get what im trying to say.

It's not a complaint. I just think this change would make the skilltree healthier and make the gameplay more smooth.

Well, to put in short, if we were in some other character's beta and this would have happened, i would still say the same. This is my vision about skilltrees overall.

And if you say this little change would make teleportation more op, then you can say that but i have to say i don't agree.

I would have said something about this if we were in woodie's beta but i'm a little too late huh.

I don't think that there is a point in talking about these stuff.

Wx have better designed skill tree than most and Klei might revisit the older skill trees.

Well, every other post says something different, it is probably hard to make changes when getting mixed feedback, some say it is op, some say it is weak, some say it is boring and others say it is okay.

+ we did not only got a skill tree for Wx but also a basekit change and new circuits that doesn't require a skill tree.

And affinity could be game changing like Winona, Wendy, Wurt, ... or it could be a simple addition like Wilson and so on. But I don't want to bring yout hopes up, because I myself don't know anything about it.

People on the forums are never happy I swear 😭

op has a point. we only got one skill tree so they could focus more attention on 1 character and we are one week away and the tree wasn't complete for most of the beta. Can only hope that the affinities will be worth the balancing that has been done around them and things will be polished in a short amount of time.

The affinities have a lot of expectations behind them now. If these aren’t well received after all this time then I’m sure a lot of people are going to be very disappointed and upset. I’m definitely concerned myself, seeing as we don’t have any idea what they could possibly do when there’s less than a week until it’s fully released and this was supposed to be the skill tree to focus on quality. At this point, with this much time spent not releasing the affinities, there will be people displeased either way. I wish Klei could have told us at least something about the affinity skills so that we could’ve provided feedback a little sooner, since at this point whatever the affinities are can’t really be changed much this late into the beta.

agreed. they told us what Woby here Woby there did before it was implemented. Idk why it wasn't the same

I wasn't around for the previous skill tree updates for other characters, so I'm not sure how this usually works. When it comes to feedback, does Klei only ever tweak the numbers for the things they've already prepared? Do brand-new ideas from the forums really never get implemented into the game?

some skill trees got totally reworked or at least half of it, but i would say most got out whithout this much being missing before launch, but skill tree like worwood got some patch up after the beta

Im just gonna point it out, since the beta started, we only got numbers tweaked and the gamma circuits added, nothing of substance was added or changed, thats why im kinda concerned about how this skill tree is gonna end up tbh, others skill trees got whole overhauls and changed tons within the beta but now we only got 1 char so they can make it better and almost nothing changed. I really hope the devs revisit this skill tree after the update and dont let it just like it is, cause what was the point of the beta if they are only gonna change a few numbers?

It's great that someone still notices this issue. Although this is not a criticism of the update, for this update that emphasizes quality, the affinity skill has remained a mystery to this day. This can't help but make people worry whether DST's future update plans will fall into an awkward situation, especially when they are still focused on developing new games.

besides I feel like we’re gonna get one more beta, maybe tomorrow.

Your expectations are going to be disappointed.
Today—the last workday of this week—has already passed, and even with such a tight schedule, they still haven’t finished the faction skill.
The final result is really worrying.

really have to wonder what is going on internally. we have a skill tree which was supposedly released early for feedback, now its release time in a couple days now. its strange that we havent gotten alignments at all and i think a roadmap is what we need. i feel like a roadmap earlier wouldve answered so many questions. regarding elsewhere they definitely couldve gotten away with being vague and not telling us what it was

probably normal development stuff.

i would think that, like many hundreds of updates before this one the team will be working on it until jut before it's time to release. it would not make sense to announce that all the features are done and ready if they are not actually done and ready, you know?. you just need to have patience. we were told when the update would roll out and being distressed that they didnt lie is really not reasonable. every skilltree before this has contained things that were not seen during the beta phase and i am sure this time will be no different
