Shadow riffs expand on the ruins a little and whatnot, influencing the sources of these shadows.

 

Lunar riff stuff doesnt. If riffs are to be updated again, they need to make interesting content on the lunar island. Right now, the lunar island is probably the safest place from all the riff stuff ironically.

I want to know why the seas in general are untouched by the moon's power. Wobsters near the lunar shores get mutated into Lunar Wobsters. What about the fish? Does the rift only affect the land and not the sea? The moonstorms mutate birds, but not shoals of fish? Why are there no horrifying moontant fish for us to catch and disgust Pearl with?

Not all living beings have a symbiosis with the moon and shadows

Rifts on the surface is not about exploration but about adding a new cycle on top of the existing one to make the game more difficult. Like an extra season that goes against you personally.
The caves is solely on exploration cause there wouldn't be much reason to do the same shtick if you barely make a base down there anyway.

Riffs being behind champion and FW already makes some problems.

It doesn’t do it well.

Just a random Op mob spawns every 20 days.
