Atmo Suit Docks

Something I've noticed is that, even if the docks are hooked up to power and gas flow, they don't always fuel up.  Sometimes I'll be waiting there for ten, twenty minutes and they still show "no oxygen."

Each suit needs 75kg oxygen and pipe gives 1kg per second. If you branch the piping, it splits one packet left one packet right for each consecutive branch, so first dock will get half the packets, second one forth, third one eight and forth one out of 16 packets. Also, first dock will be used more than the rest because dupes equip suits in sequence starting from the closest to the check point.

I usually fill dock with a continues pipe, starting from the closest to the check point. I am waiting for docks to fill, each dock stores 200kg oxygen, and then request suits on the dock. After that you can build the check point. That way you don't wait so long for the route outside the check point to be available.

Yeah, the atmosuit docks take a LOT of oxygen.  Each suit holds enough oxygen to allow a dupe to breathe through an entire work cycle.  I often set them up with their own dedicated supply, separate from the one I'm using for the rest of the base.
