Why did they change the Winter's Feast menu music?

It seems like a really random change, hopefully they bring the old music back at some point. I remember in 2022 when they did the Wolfgang rework they also didn't use the regular music, so it could just be a one-off thing

If you're not a console player, I would highly recommend this mod that my friend @crushcircuit made. It basically allows you to configure the main menu theme/main menu music to whichever you desire. I myself wanted it to, among other things, listen to the base DST theme that we haven't heard for several years at this point (along with the Balatro one, makes for a surprisingly good idle tune while going through mod/world menus).

I found an old Laknish mod that worked as well, I feel bad for the modders that have to understand how .fsb files work though

you actually dont have to, something bundled in the mod tools lets you view the location of the menu music. You basically just have to redirect it to the corresponding file location instead of whatever else its currently referencing

basically, for the winter's feast music, your modmain would simply be:

GLOBAL.FE_MUSIC = "dontstarve/music/music_FE_WF"

my mod also lets you change the animation (which for the most part only references preexisting assets), but the music part of the mod is basically just that, controlled by config options LOL

as far as i know, they've never removed or replaced any of the menu music, so they're all still in there somewhere

the option to swap menu music would be best even if ive had far too much of the winters feast music that im sick of it lmao
