The Chilled Amulet does not work inside the Fumarole Biome

This niche item has almost no applications, I was happy to go to the caves and use it in the magma hot fumarole biome as age 71 Wanda, and almost died of heatstroke as an old grandma cuz the chilling amulet wasn't bing chilling 😭

Probably a good idea to submit it as a bug report in the appropriate subforum, since I imagine this is a bug.

It's not a bug, it just doesn't give enough cooling to cool you down on its own.

That said, it should absolutely get a buff in that regard. Currently it has this much cooling:

BLUEGEM_COOLER = -20

Which is the same as a stage 2 endothermic fire (firepit or campfire), with stage 1 (-10) being when it's about to go out.

It should probably get -40 at minimum (same as a maxed out endothermic fire).
